LONDON

Andreas Rialas

Prior to founding Argo in 2000, Andreas worked for Deutsche Bank for three years where he was involved in emerging markets proprietary trading and trade finance specialist products. Before that, he was at London Forfaiting (Asia) Ltd as Head of Secondary Debt Trading in emerging markets. At Argo, Andreas built up a formidable distressed/activist reputation in emerging markets and spearheaded some of the firm’s most lucrative distressed debt/restructuring investments. These include investments in Argentina, India, Russia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Romania, Thailand and the Dominican Republic. Andreas studied law at the University of London, graduating in 1991, and subsequently trained to be an English Barrister specialising in banking law qualifying in 1993.

Jeremy Bradshaw

Jeremy was previously General Counsel at the Royal Bank of Canada Global Private Bank specialising in credit and structured products and Head of Legal at Banco Santander. He has also worked at Bank of America and international law firm, SJ Berwin. He holds a BSc in Economics and an MSc in European Studies from the London School of Economics and joined in 2007.

Stephen Rothwell

Stephen has extensive experience of emerging markets. He joined in 2007 and is a former managing director of Dresdner Kleinwort where he ran the EM Illiquid debt business and more recently, the Distressed Debt & Special Situations trading desk. Before joining Dresdner in 2000, Stephen spent fifteen years in sovereign and credit research with London Forfaiting, a listed company which arranges and provides finance to emerging market borrowers.

Marcelo Saez

Prior to joining Argo in 2011, Marcelo was a portfolio manager for a number of emerging market hedge funds with focus on emerging market local debt and FX. Before that he was a portfolio manager for Threadneedle Asset Management and Aberdeen Asset Management in emerging market debt portfolios. After graduating from Macquarie University in Australia with an Actuarial/Economics degree Marcelo joined AMP,one of the largest insurance and investment companies, as an actuarial analyst and eventually moved into asset management as a credit analyst and then as portfolio manager. He is a CFA charterholder.

Matias Vammalle

Matias is a member of the credit team and the firm's investment committee. He is responsible for credit research and actively involved in portfolio management. Matias has 11 years of industry experience that has encompassed debt capital markets and origination, credit research and trading. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Babson Capital Management where he was an Emerging Markets corporate portfolio manager. Before that, he spent 9 years at Citigroup where he held roles in research and trading for Latin America and Asia. Matias holds a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Columbia University where he graduated summa cum laude. 

Michael Jivkov

Prior to joining Argo in 2011, Michael worked for Novum Capital Beratungsgesellschaft mbH, a Frankfurt based investment firm, for 4 years. As an investment analyst at Novum, he helped provide the firm’s joint venture partner, US hedge fund Fortress Investment Group, with transaction opportunities in Europe’s senior debt, mezzanine and private equity markets. Michael holds a BSc from the London School of Economics.

Sandrine Loyeung 

Sandrine qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2002 and joined the Argo team as Financial Controller in September 2016. Prior to this she held financial reporting and control roles, including 4 years in the financial control team at Blackrock and 4 years  in Mortgages at Bank of America Merrill Lynch . Sandrine also worked in practice for 7 years, including 2 years in the Real Estates audit department at Ernst and Young in London. Sandrine graduated from The London School of Economics and holds a BSc in Management sciences.

Sam Rothwell

Prior to joining Argo in 2013, Sam completed an internship at Insparo Asset Management, a frontier-market credit fund. He holds a BA from Exeter University and is a CFA Level III candidate.

Vic Kotecha

Vic joined the Argo team in November 2017 as Director of Business Development and Investor Relations. With over 15 years of sales experience initially with Bloomberg and Citigroup the bulk of his career was spent as Head of Sales growing fintech start up AlternativeSoft. Most recently he has spent the last couple of years fundraising within the private equity markets.

NICOSIA

Kyriakos Rialas

Kyriakos has been with Argo since 2003. He has overall responsibility for risk management, legal, regulatory and general management of the Argo business. Prior to joining Argo, he was General Manager of Emporiki Bank in Cyprus from 1999 to 2003 where he managed a portfolio of syndicated loans worth US$1 billion. Kyriakos has also worked for Bank of Cyprus Group, London Forfaiting Cyprus (where he was Finance Director) and SG Warburg. He has a degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in London.

Melina Tomazou

Prior to joining Argo in 2005, Melina worked for Cyprus Popular Bank Ltd in various positions including Treasury Administration. Melina holds a MSc in Strategic Marketing from East Anglia University.

SINGAPORE

Nathan Chua

Nathan works as a consultant based out in Singapore. Before joining Argo in 2007, he was a senior portfolio manager at ABN Amro Asset Management responsible for asset allocation and portfolio construction across asset classes. Between 2000 and 2003, he worked for Merrill Lynch in Singapore where he headed up their regional fixed income sales and trading desk for the Asia (ex-Japan) region. Between 1996 and 2000, Nathan was a proprietary trader in fixed-income for Citibank N.A. and before that he spent six years working for JP Morgan Chase in New York as a credit analyst. Nathan holds an MBA from the University of Michigan. He is a CFA charterholder.
